How to tell what major an art student is in
Actor
Friendly people. They annunciate and speak loud and clear. Most seem to like to mess around a lot and have fun. Usually are the only people who volunteer to read out loud in class, and are make the readings surprisingly entertaining (we all know how painful reading out loud as a class can be in middle and high school). Amazing storytellers and expressive people. Mostly anyone who wears...

With a river at the bottom. Two little pieces from the top of hill fall down into the river. Now these rocks are jagged, jagged, and jagged in every place. As they go with the flow of the river, they bump into each other often. But not on purpose, just because they bump into other things on the way and end up bumping into each other. And remember these little pieces are just...

Worst Fear?
That I’m slowly forgetting how to feel. forgetting who I am.
Maybe not forgetting…just losing myself..
Taking a break
to write a (hopefully) quick update on the first week of school.
So if you guys didn’t know already, my school is different from regular colleges when it comes to class sign-ups. We actually have to be physically present and line up for each individual class and get the teacher to sign our schedule. There’s only 20-30 spaces for most general ed classes (which we call Critical Studies...

This is how I know I'm at the right place.
So, after basically two entire days of preparing for and actually screenprinting for the third time ever, (yesterday was a full 15 hours straight with only a 40 minute break for dinner..only meal i ate all day), I’m not too happy about the whole thing. I’m tired of how much work it took and how much can still go wrong no matter how much I’m careful to do everything correctly....
The inter-web.
lisasaysitslegit:
Could be, and most likely, different from real life. People on the internet don’t know who you are, where you live, what are you like, who your friends are, what kind of environment you grew up in, etc. They know completely nothing about you until you open up to them. Here on the internet, people can be whoever and whatever they want to be. They could be the bomb ass looking...

5 Lessons about the way we treat people.

1 - First Important Lesson - Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?” Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was...

When I watch documentaries about the Vietnam War era in the United States, (tonight’s, ★★☆), I’m filled with both wonder and hopelessness: wonder at the sheer scale of the protests, civic disobedience, and government criminality of the time, but hopelessness that we still have all of the same problems today, systemically unable to prevent repeating the same mistakes in every generation.

For all the shit I have against ST, it isn’t really a bad high school at all. Actually the regular faculty is ok, but the AP faculty is pretty damn good. ST is lucky to have them. Besides, your education and experience is what you make of it. Don’t blame the school. Trust me, the school does not deserve the credit for how well the past couple years...

Questions, questions, questions.
lisasaysitslegit:
Who are they? Where do they come from? What are they like? Do I have any? How will I know? Constant questions are asked with the people I’m associated with. Acquaintances, friends, good friends or best friends? Honestly, I don’t know who some of them are and I don’t really have a “best friend”. People walk in and out of my life, constantly. “When people come in your life for a...
People Come Into Your Life for a Reason by Alvin... →

This is a personal analogy on the cause and effect of true friendship based on an original idea by author, Jean Dominque Martin.
There are motives for everything. Juxtaposed against the backdrop of advantageous endeavor, people leverage and jockey for position all the time, and often it’s at the behest of friendship. Do you believe that people come into your life for a reason,...

LOL, credits to Mike Shinoda for posting this one on his blog.
Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park:
I once heard it put this way: if you were to start at a center point and draw a one-inch line, then change direction one degree and draw a second line, the two end points would be close together. It may seem like an insubstantial thing. But draw those two lines out hundreds of miles, and the end points will be miles apart. Sometimes a small change or decision can add...

Ok, scientists piss me off.
Dolphins have been declared the world’s second most intelligent creatures after humans, with scientists suggesting they are so bright that they should be treated as “non-human persons”.
Studies into dolphin behaviour have highlighted how similar their communications are to those of humans and that they are brighter than chimpanzees. These have been backed up by anatomical research showing that...
